YOU ARE ALL I WANT LORD!
Luke 13:6 - 9
Then he told this parable: "A man had a fig tree, planted in his vineyard, and he went to look for fruit on it, but did not find any. So he said to the man who took care of the vineyard, 'For three years now I've been coming to look for fruit on this fig tree and haven't found any. Cut it down! Why should it use up the soil?'" 'Sir,' the man replied, 'leave it alone for one more year, and I'll dig around it and fertilize it. If it bears fruit next year, fine! If not, then cut it down.' "
The Lord gives us many chances in life to repent and return back to Him. But we keep falling again and again into the pit of darkness and wander off from His presence. Many a times our sin must have been so terrible that God may have planned to cut us off and throw us away into the fire of destruction but our Redeemer Jesus Christ must have pleaded with the Father to leave us alone for some more time and that He will try to bring us back, as we see in the above parable. Yes it’s the continuous intercession that Jesus does on our behalf with the Father that has kept us safe and sound until now on this earth. The Word of God or the devotions that we read are the fertilizers that the Lord puts on us so that we will bare fruit.
The Lord wants us to live a life pleasing to Him and to use our life as an instrument for God’s works. He wants us to bear the good fruits of the Holy Spirit. But we for the lust of our worldly spirit wander away and go behind worldly pleasures that make us to bare no fruit. We do not realize how much the Spirit must be grieving when we commit a sin or when we go away from the Lord. We after falling into trouble call on Him and grumble with Him that He is not helping us. But how can He help us if we do not hold onto Him all the time. We should be able to put God in front of all our needs and thoughts and allow Him to deal in all our difficult situations with complete faith in Him. Then only He will use us more and more and in the end we will be able to bare fruit for Him. This is very difficult if we depend on our human nature but it is only possible by completely submitting to His will. Otherwise in the end when He comes and sees that we have not produced any good fruits then He will cut us and throw us into the everlasting fire of hell.
Let’s Pray -
Dear Heavenly Father, please have mercy on us and forgive us all our sins. We know that we are not worthy to be forgiven but please give us one more chance, we plead. We are so sorry for going away from you and not putting you in the first place in our daily schedule. Lord please live in our hearts and rule our hearts. Let not Satan drag us into the worldly pleasures and later on put us in terrible situations and lead us into destruction. Lord break us and mould us but do not abandon us. Make us an instrument of worship Lord. Lord we have no one other than you to understand us and to love us. All we want is you Lord. Teach our hearts that You are the only one who will be with us always and in all situations. Lord we bow down before you. Have mercy on us O Lord. You are so great and wonderful; there is none like you. You are the all-powerful. Please save us from the eternal fire and give us everlasting life in eternity with you. Strengthen us by your holy spirit to bare good fruit for you. Help us to abide by your Word and to live according to your will. Cleanse us and purify us. Lord we submit ourselves before you and we offer ourselves to you. Bless us and keep us. Jesus please plead for us to the Father. Thank you for keeping us and forgiving us each time we do a mistake. All this we ask in your precious name. Amen!
