We love, because He first loved us

Isaiah 49:15-16"Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! I have written your name on the palms of my hands.

The above verse used to comfort me a lot as a child and a teenager. But now as a proud mother of an 8-month-old child, I can really feel the measure of compassionate love that the Lord is trying to show to His people through this verse. The above picture from the news today moved me a lot, which made me think of my Lord's love towards His children on this earth. The Gorilla in the picture is just an animal and still just see the depth of her love towards her baby. Her child has been dead for a week and still she carries it around all the time and is not ready to let go of his body, as she is not able to accept the reality of her child's death. Such love is not even seen among humans now days. But our Saviour loves us immeasurably more than a mother's tender love. We cannot even imagine the depth of it and that Love is so very visible from the kind of death our Lord embraced for the redemption of the whole world.

The Almighty says in John 15:8, "Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you; abide in my love." That means the Lord truly loves us more than we can ever know. And we should love him back the same way but for that first we need to believe that he truly loves us. "We love, because He first loved us". 1 John. 4:19.

Has there been a time in your life in which you've sinned or gone astray from his presence and then later on looked back and felt "No, the Lord is never going to love me anymore cause of my sin, I'm not worthy to get his love, …". I confess I have felt it many times. But this is a lie that the devil tries to tell us so that we will be put down and suffer in our guilt. Our Lord is a forgiving Lord and his love upon us will never be less whatever we are or however we are. When we repent he will embrace us in his love and fill our heart with a joyful song. He will redeem us from our sins.

But for that we need to have faith and trust in his love, yeah we need to abide in his love each day. For that we have to read his word and decide to live according to his word. Once we feel that great love of God revealed within us we will be able to love him back as well as love other people around us with that Godly love (Agape). We will feel peaceful and will get the strength to face this life with joy. This realization will help us to be joyful through out the day and fill our hearts with a song of praise. We will be able to see every difficulty in life as an opportunity for God to work or to prove his love in our lives. We will be able to feel compassionate towards the needs and wants of other living things. And we will be able to show God's love to others through our actions. So lets join together and shout to the Lord in one accord, "WE LOVE YOU LORD AS YOU HAVE LOVED US."

Thank you Lord for your compassionate and amazing love towards us. We are just a breath and still You, the creator of the whole universe loves us more than anything. Thank you so much. We repent all our sins that we have committed to this very second and we are sorry for not trusting in your love. Help us Lord to abide in your love and to love you back just as you have loved us. Help us to love others with a Godly love and help us to show others that you are the Love yourself. Help us to fully accept your true love and love you with all that we have. We invite you within our hearts and our lives to reveal that great love each day. All this we ask in the precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen!
